TomatoPeter Studio / Jun Pan ("we," "our," or "us") provides Remove Photo Metadata as a privacy utility for inspecting and removing hidden photo metadata. This Privacy Policy applies specifically to Remove Photo Metadata and explains how the app handles selected photos, metadata, clean copies, purchases, and related app data.

Summary

Remove Photo Metadata is designed to process photos you select locally on your device. The app does not upload your photos, photo contents, extracted metadata, cleaned copies, or album contents to TomatoPeter Studio servers.

Information the App Processes

Remove Photo Metadata may process the following information only as needed to provide its metadata inspection and cleaning features:

  • Selected Photos: Photos you choose from your photo library are read locally so the app can inspect metadata and create clean copies.
  • Photo Metadata: Metadata such as GPS location, camera or device details, capture time, image properties, and other EXIF fields may be read locally to show privacy risks and remove metadata from clean copies.
  • Clean Copies: When you choose to clean photos, the app creates clean image copies locally and saves or shares them only when you request it.
  • Local App Settings and Entitlements: The app may store settings, daily cleanup usage, and Pro unlock state locally on your device so the app can remember feature access.
  • Purchase Status: If you buy or restore the one-time Pro unlock, Apple App Store services process the purchase. The app uses purchase status only to unlock paid features.

How the App Uses Photos and Metadata

The app uses selected photos and metadata only to:

  • Scan selected photos or albums for hidden metadata
  • Show privacy risk summaries such as location, device, time, and other metadata categories
  • Create clean copies with metadata removed
  • Save clean copies to your local Photos library when you choose to save them
  • Share clean copies through the iOS share sheet when you choose to share them
  • Unlock Pro features after a successful App Store purchase or restore

Photo Library Permission

Remove Photo Metadata asks for photo library access so you can select photos, scan albums, read metadata, and save clean copies. You can manage or revoke photo access at any time in iOS Settings.

Local Processing and Storage

Photo scanning and metadata cleaning are performed on your device. Temporary local files may be created during cleaning or sharing so the app can produce clean copies. These temporary files are used only for app functionality and are not uploaded to TomatoPeter Studio servers.

Clean copies remain in your Photos library only if you choose to save them. You can delete saved clean copies from Photos at any time.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your photos, extracted metadata, clean copies, or album contents. Remove Photo Metadata does not upload image processing data to our servers.

  • Apple App Store: Apple processes purchases and restores for in-app purchases according to Apple's own privacy policy.
  • System Share Sheet: If you choose to share a clean copy, iOS handles the sharing destination you select.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information only if required by law or in response to a valid legal request.

Third-Party Services

Remove Photo Metadata uses Apple platform services such as Photos, the iOS share sheet, and App Store in-app purchase services. The app does not use a server-side image processing service for photo metadata cleaning.

Data Retention and Deletion

We do not retain selected photos, extracted metadata, album contents, or clean copies on our servers. App data that exists locally can be controlled on your device. You can delete saved clean copies in Photos, revoke photo permission in iOS Settings, or delete the app to remove local app data.

Children's Privacy

Remove Photo Metadata does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not require an account and does not upload selected photos or extracted metadata to our servers.

Your Rights

Because Remove Photo Metadata does not create an account or store your photos or metadata on our servers, most app data can be controlled directly on your device. If you contact us with a privacy request, we will respond according to applicable law.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date on this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
